Andrea Olmos Tejado
Meetings Manager

Andrea Olmos Tejado serves as a Meetings Manager at SAM, where she collaborates with partner organizations to plan and execute events that are both meaningful and memorable. With a passion for storytelling and a background in theatre, Andrea brings creativity, attention to detail, and logistical expertise to each event she manages.
Andrea began her events career as a teen, organizing gatherings for friends, and went on to build experience in wedding planning, restaurant event coordination, and hotel event management. Prior to joining SAM in 2025, she spent two years managing hotel events and also worked as a freelance planner, creating immersive experiences for a range of clients.
Originally from Mexico City and now based in Austin, Andrea is drawn to association work for its connection to people and purpose. Outside of work, she enjoys group fitness classes, exploring Austin's social scene, and traveling in search of creative inspiration.
Partners: Texas Association for the Gifted & Talented (TAGT)
Family: I come from a very close, loving Mexican family—anchored by my incredibly resilient mom, who has taught us everything we need to know about life; my amazing and kind sister; and my funny, incredible brother. I also carry the perspective of my dad, who was the best person I have ever known.
Outside of work, I love... group fitness classes, like Pilates, Barre, yoga, and spinning, as well as traveling and trying new restaurants.
My workplace superpower is... bonding through networking and creating personal connections amongst colleagues and clients.
Assessments: Maverick (Predictive Index)
What inspires me about working with associations: My grandfather was a member of an association, and he was so passionate about it. Our partners' events are for the people who are passionate about their industries, which makes them even more meaningful. I am excited to work for a company that loves to curate experiences for the people and leave an impact.
My unique skills and passions: I have the ability to connect with people and build trust with them through the execution of their events.
Favorite SAM core value: Practice empathy. In the end, people are people, and whether it's a client or a teammate, everyone deserves a chance to be heard. Listening to one another and being aware of our environment as a whole—even if someone is not saying something is very important. By doing this, we are able to foster a healthy workplace environment.
