Acquisition enhances event planning expertise to elevate services

Strategic Association Management (SAM), a leader in providing full-service operational and program management for professional associations and nonprofit organizations, has completed the successful acquisition of AM Planning, a prominent Texas-based firm in the meeting and event planning industry. This move represents strategic growth for SAM, further solidifying its position as a premier association management company.

AM Planning, known for its exceptional track record of organizing large-scale conferences and conventions for organizations and professional societies, adds a wealth of knowledge and talent to the already dynamic SAM team. As part of the acquisition, SAM has absorbed the staff of AM Planning, and AM Planning CEO Abby Mund, CMP, now leads the SAM Meetings Division as Director of Meetings and Events.

Post-acquisition, SAM now employs 30 association professionals, many of whom hold individual industry credentials such as the Certified Association Executive (CAE) designation. As an organization, SAM is accredited by the international Association Management Company Institute (AMCI). The firm’s capabilities include all facets of association and nonprofit management: executive leadership, meetings and events, finance, communications, board management and governance, operations and administration, membership and volunteer support, strategic planning and consulting, and professional development and programming.
